Apple Pickin

I can vividly remember as a child loading
up in the car, making a drive to a neighboring town
to pick apples at a local orchard.

But never in my wildest dreams
did I believe that one day I would
get to harvest apples in my own back yard!

Today I picked apples....

From our orchard....!

The first two batches were made into yummy apple sauce
by my neighbor and a dear friend.

These are destined for delicious apple pies!

Thanks to God's glorious provision of
apples!

Oh how fun!
Get the recipe books out. Looks like a big crop.
How many apple trees?
Are they good enough to eat from the tree?
Coffee and apple pie...sounds so good!

Cheers for the apple trees producing! Are they ready earlier than usual? Word around this apple country is that it may be slim pickns' due to the crazy weather we have had . . .

Love the photos!

Oh this reminds me of our last house. We planted 4 baby apple trees the first year we moved in, and for the last 10 years we were there we had more apples than we could use. I loved having a harvest each year. And the birds and squirrels loved the leftovers. :)
Enjoy your bumper crop!

Lucky you. The apples in our neck of the woods are in short supply this year due to early budding and then a frost. Enjoy!

We have two apple trees in the yard, but they are just a bit small still. The kids want to pick them so bad. Not until Sept. around here. Your's look so good, I love tart apples.

Hey Dee Dee!! It truly shows how much you read my blog when you find out about your reward before I comment to let you know, lol. Or did I? I was really tired last night.

Anyway--you are one of my favorite commentors dd! I always look forward to reading what you have to say, and it's so not true that you can't write. I love reading your blog posts. Even though you've already found it, here's the link to my Sunshine Award post that I'm just getting around to linking to your blog. http://debtfreemommyblog.blogspot.com/2012/07/sunshine-award.html

How wonderful to have your own orchard! I'm jealous! I love picking apples in the fall and making applesauce. I make it in the crockpot. It never stays in the house, we all eat it up!!
